Unrestricted Fund (General Support)
Support the Society for Thermal Medicine with an unrestricted donation that can be used where it is needed most. Unrestricted gifts provide the flexibility to sustain STM’s core operations, strengthen our annual meeting, and support opportunities for trainees and early career researchers as needs arise.
If you prefer, you may also direct your donation toward a specific purpose such as travel awards, prizes, invited lectures, or training initiatives. If no designation is indicated, your gift will be applied to STM’s Unrestricted Fund for general support.
The William C. Dewey Memorial Fund
All gifts in Honor of Dr. Dewey will support the educational mission of STM to offer new training opportunities for junior scientists and the importance of guidance and mentoring throughout all of our careers.
The James Lepock Memorial Fund
Supports of the general activities of the Society for Thermal Medicine and help fund many worthwhile programs, including the Scholar-in-Training Travel Awards.
Planned-Giving and Legacy Gifts
The Society for Thermal Medicine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Many members choose to support STM through planned giving, such as a bequest in a will or trust, or by naming STM as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy. Legacy gifts help ensure that future generations of researchers experience the same sense of community, mentorship, and scientific curiosity that has defined STM.
How to include STM in your plans
To make an unrestricted legacy gift, you may share the following sample language with your attorney or advisor:
“I give to the Society for Thermal Medicine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Federal Tax ID 23-2432339, located at C/o KnowledgeWorks Global, 301 Concourse Blvd., Suite 210, Glen Allen, VA 23059, the sum of $[amount] or [percentage] of my estate for its general, unrestricted purposes.”
If you prefer, you may direct your gift toward a purpose that reflects your priorities (ex. trainee travel, awards, training, or meeting support). We encourage language that allows flexibility over time, such as “for the general purposes of STM, with a preference for [purpose].”
For confidential conversations or to request additional options and sample language, please contact Dr. Arlene Oei, PhD, STM President, at a.l.oei@amsterdamumc.nl or +31 6 16 98 7575.
